Dr. Michael Wittmann (he/him) is Head of Education at the American Physical Society, where he is project director of the Effective Practices for Physics Programs (EP3), the Physics Education Teacher Coalition (PhysTEC), and APS Bridge, as well as working on the Physics and Astronomy Faculty Teaching Institute (formerly the New Faculty Workshop), the APS Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Alliance (APS IDEA), the Inclusive Graduate Education Network (IGEN, an INCLUDES Alliance), Get the Facts Out, and the NSF Physics REU Leadership Group. Before coming to APS, he was at University of Maine, where he served as Chair of the UMaine Physics and Astronomy Department, co-founded the Maine Center for Research in STEM Education, and co-created a STEM Education Ph.D. He will lead the design of working group and conference activities and guide the development of new EP3 sections in conjunction with the EP3 editorial director and EP3 Editorial Board.
